Update To Entry Requirements for 2026
Updated Entry Requirements for The Pink Picnic 2026
At Salford Pride, we truly value the feedback we receive from our guests, it’s what helps us grow and make The Pink Picnic better every year. This year, many of you shared your thoughts on our alcohol policy, and we’ve listened carefully.
In 2025, alcohol restrictions were introduced to address concerns about anti-social behaviour and to protect the wellbeing of our staff and volunteers. However, we also understand that being able to bring your own drinks makes the event more affordable and enjoyable for many in our community.
With that in mind, we’re happy to share that from 2026, guests will once again be able to bring a small amount of alcohol into the event.
What’s New for 2026
Adults (18+) may bring up to 4 cans of alcohol (maximum 440ml each) into the event.
Alcohol can only be brought in aluminum cans, no glass.
This allowance applies only on first entry, re-entry with additional alcohol will not be permitted.
Please ensure your cans are visible for security checks at the gate.
At Salford Pride, keeping everyone safe is at the heart of what we do. To balance the change in policy on alcohol, whilst ensuring safety, we’ll have a few extra friendly faces from our security team and local police joining us to help make sure the event runs smoothly for everyone. These changes come from listening to your feedback whilst ensuring our ongoing commitment to creating a space that’s welcoming, inclusive, and safe. We’d love your help too, please drink responsibly, be respectful to our volunteers, and pop your rubbish in the bins provided so we can all enjoy a clean, vibrant event together.
Accessibility and Bags
We’re also making it easier for everyone to enjoy the day comfortably. Guests may now bring coolers or bags on wheels, provided they meet our size requirements. This aims to support those with accessibility needs. Please note: bags over 50cmx50cm will not be permitted, large trollies or suitcases will not be permitted to ensure smooth entry for all.
Sustainability and Single-Use Plastic
Salford Pride remains committed to protecting our park and community spaces. Our single-use plastic ban will continue for 2026. Over the past two years, this policy has helped drastically reduce waste and cut down on volunteer clean-up time.
You’re welcome to bring food and soft drinks, as long as they’re not in single-use plastic packaging:
Soft Drinks: must be in cans or cardboard containers. Empty reusable bottles are encouraged, free water refill stations will be available on-site. Soft drinks in reusable bottles will be required to be decanted.
Alcohol Free Drinks: must be in cans and are not limited. Please ensure your cans are visible for security checks at the gate
Food: can be brought in cardboard, foil, or reusable containers (like Tupperware). Remember, crisp and sweet packets count as single-use plastic. If you forget, our team will have alternative packaging available at the gate.
You can also choose to donate non-perishable food items instead of disposing of them.
We ask all guests to follow these guidelines so that everyone can enjoy a safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible event. Anyone not complying with the entry rules may be refused admission.
Thank you for your understanding, support, and community spirit, we can’t wait to welcome you to The Pink Picnic 2026!
